Budbud or steamed sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves is one my favorite local delicacies or kakanin. It is a very flexible delicacy that it can be eaten as a dessert, snack, or even breakfast food. When I go home to my dad's hometown in Bohol, I always look forward to eating budbud for breakfast. It goes so well with sikwate or hot chocolate. Another great combo for budbud is eating with ripe mangoes. Budbud with manga has become so popular that even local restaurants started offering the amazing combination.
