Love your Kidney with Old Orchard Cranberry Juice

I love drinking juice.  I have been drinking it since I was a child. I always go for my favorites like orange, pineapple, mango, and grapes. Recently, I attended a talk organized by the people behind the Old Orchard Juice Brand in the Philippines and I realized many things about juices and the health benefits we get from it.

When I attended the event I was not expecting too much.  I just thought that they were going to just pitch about their juice with general statements that we can pass on to our readers.  The talked was backed with some research and I enjoyed listening to the "lecture".

I learned about how juices are classified.   We might think that every juice is equal, but it is not.  There is a difference between a concentrate and a nectar.  Nectars have added sugar for flavor. Normally, the cranberry juices in the market are cocktail blends made out of concentrate with added sweeteners. Cranberries tend to be too sour to be sold as pure 100% juice.

I also learned that drinking cranberry juice can help you take care of your kidneys.  The kidneys are the organs that are vital in extracting waste from our blood, balancing body fluids and forming urine.  Because of its multiple functions, the kidneys are one of the most vulnerable organs of the body.  It is very important for people to always take care of their kidneys. People with chronic disease need to undergo dialysis at least two times a week and it is very costly and inconvenient.   One of the best ways of preventing kidney diseases is by drinking cranberry juice.
The kidneys are the powerhouse of the human urinary system.  One of the most common urinary diseases is UTI or urinary tract infection. Do you know that one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of suffering from UTI is drinking cranberry juice? Based on studies, Cranberry Juice is rich proanthocyanidin and hippuric acid that prevents bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract.  By reducing the chances of UTI, people who regularly drink cranberry juice has a lower risk of chronic kidney infection which is a major risk factor of chronic kidney disease.
I was given a sample of the cranberry juice.  I checked out the label and the Old Orchard Cranberry Juice contains only 95 calories per serving. It has 23 grams of sugar per glass because it would probably be hard to drink the juice without the sweeteners.  Even with that amount of sugar, I still find the juice to be very acidic.
I liked the Old Orchard Cranberry Raspberry blend more as it was a bit sweeter and it had a better taste. The cranberry raspberry mix though only contains 15% juice compared to 20% in the pure cranberry cocktail blend.
Old Orchard also offers other juice flavors for people who love variety.  In the Philippines, they are selling apple, grape, grapefruit, and a host of combinations for their cocktail blends.  The 64 oz Cranberry Juice is sold at only 216 pesos.

Fruits are one of the richest sources of nutrients and if you do not have enough servings of fruit every day, one of the best ways to compensate is with fruit juices. I am not talking about the sugary juices that are in tetra packs or the powdered versions. I am talking about real juice concentrates like the Old Orchard Juices. Its health benefits are backed with years of research and many people can attest how effective juices in preventing diseases.
