6-13-2015 Food of the Day: Sweet and Sour Fish

Sometimes a fried meat can be elevated to a different level with a delicious sauce.  Take this fried Katambak or two-spot Red Snapper.  It would have been delicious already as a fried fish, but adding some sweet and sour sauce made it more appetizing. With some delicious sauce, I usually end up with eating a cup or 2 more of rice.

Pungko Pungko - Cebuano Foodie Must-try

You cannot say you are a Cebuano foodie until you partake and enjoy the offerings of your local Pungko-Pungko stall. Pungko means squat in the Cebuano language.  The Pungko-Pungko name was attached to vendors who walk to sell food and when they find interested eaters they usually look for a clean corner and squat or "pungko" to eat.  Now, most Pungko-Pungko suki do not need to look for their favorite vendor because there are now in many places in the city that are known for this type of "cuisine".  The popular hotspots for pungko-pungko are the stalls in the Fuente area at the back of Sampaguita Suites, Redemptorist Church Area near Foodarama, and Cebu Doctor's University area beside McDonald's.

Cebu, Davao cities among highest Globe 5G traffic in PH

  5G adoption is fast spreading in other parts of the country with the cities of Cebu and Davao having the most number of Globe 5G users outside Metro Manila for the first half of 2022. For  Visayas , Cebu City ranked the highest, followed by  Lapu-Lapu  City a nd  Mandaue  City. On the other hand, Davao City led in Mindanao with Cagayan de Oro City placing second. “Faster download speeds, lower latency, higher capacity, and overall superior performance are among the compelling reasons why consumers are shifting to 5G. We are confident that with the progress we are making on our 5G rollouts, we can further boost user  experience in  Visayas  and Mindanao,” said Patrick Gloria, Director for External Affairs,  Visayas  and Mindanao and Regional Lead for the Globe  Visayas  Leadership Team. As of the first semester, Globe’s 5G network has reached 85.8% of key cities in  Visayas  and Mindanao in terms of 5G outdoor coverage and 96.6% in Metro Manila.
